Verde Prestige Steel Watch
Green, and the way it changes with the light.
A sunray dial in emerald that reads almost black in low light and opens up in the sun. Set in a forty millimetre case on an integrated bracelet, where the links flow out of the case rather than hanging off it. The detail that separates a considered watch from an assembled one.
The Detail
Sunray finish.
Brushed outward from the centre, so the light catches differently as your wrist turns. A flat green dial would sit still. This one does not.
Integrated bracelet.
The links continue the line of the case instead of meeting it at an angle. Harder to make, and immediately visible on the wrist.
A clasp you do not see.
The push button closure sits inside the bracelet, so the line stays unbroken all the way round.
Day and date.
Both on the dial, turning over on their own.

Taking Care Of It
Keep it dry.
Three bar handles rain and handwashing. Not built for showering, swimming or diving, where heat and pressure work against the seals.
Sizing the bracelet.
The tool in the box removes links. Work on a soft surface, push the pins out in the direction the arrows on the underside indicate, and take out links evenly from both sides of the clasp so it stays centred.
Setting the calendar.
Avoid changing the date between nine in the evening and three in the morning, while the movement is already turning it over.
The bracelet.
The cloth in the box handles fingerprints. For the links, a soft toothbrush and a little warm soapy water, dried thoroughly.
The battery.
A quartz movement runs for years on one cell. When the second hand starts jumping in two second steps, that is the signal to have it changed.
