A rectangular case on a leather strap, in a shape that has been on wrists for a century and has never needed changing. Thin enough that a shirt cuff passes over it without catching. The kind of watch you wear because of what it leaves out.
The Detail
Rectangular, not round.
A shape drawn for the wrist rather than borrowed from a pocket watch. It sits along the arm instead of across it.
Eight point four millimetres.
Genuinely thin. Most watches claiming a slim profile sit at eleven or twelve. This one disappears under a cuff and stays there.
Roman numerals.
The oldest way of marking a dial, and still the most legible on a rectangle where the corners do the work.
Worn by anyone.
The proportions suit a narrow wrist as easily as a broad one, which is rarer than it sounds.

Taking Care Of It
Keep the leather dry.
Three bar handles rain and handwashing. Not built for showering, swimming or diving. Water is harder on the strap than on the case.
The crown stays closed.
Pull it out only when the watch is completely dry, and push it fully home
