BINBOND
A square case, and the moon on the dial.
Most watches are round. This one is not, which is the first thing anyone notices. The second is the moon phase sitting quietly on the dial, tracking something older than any of us. On a leather strap that softens with wear.
The Detail
Squared, not round.
A case that sits differently on the wrist and reads differently across a table.
Moon phase.
A small aperture showing where the moon is in its cycle. Of no practical use whatsoever, which is rather the point.
Date and day, turning on their own.
Two fewer things to think about at the start of the week.
A clasp you do not see.
The push button closure sits inside the strap, keeping the line clean.

Taking Care Of It
Keep the leather dry.
Three bar handles rain and handwashing. Not built for showering, swimming or diving. Water is harder on the strap than on the case.
Setting the calendar.
Avoid changing the date between nine in the evening and three in the morning, while the movement is already turning it over.
The strap will change.
Leather darkens and softens over the first months. That is the material doing what it should.
The battery.
A quartz movement runs for years on one cell. When the second hand starts jumping in two second steps, that is the signal to have it changed.
